
Marcella was moved last night to the moderate care facility. The staff at the ICU said since she was doing so great they could move her. She is in her "tanning bed" getting some light to improve her jaundice. They had to put her into an incubator for the bilirubin to keep her from being irritated by the lights. I asked the nurse that was watching her if they named the bilirubin after a person I thought Billy Reubin. Apparently she thought that was the funniest thing and couldn't stop laughing, I guess she never had to answer the question before. Now I have a feeling she is telling all the other nurses. Oh Well.... The great part about being in the new place is we are allowed to hold her every three hours or so, to take the place of feedings. So Christy and I are able to bond with her more now. Christy and I are also doing good. Christy is tired a lot of the time and needs to take naps to keep her energy up, but she is doing great for just having a baby. We are staying at the Med Inn which is connected to the hospital, we just go down two hallways and we are at her room. It is so close by so we are going back and forth to the room and Ella's frequently.

So glad to hear all the positives about Marcella's path of her birth to the upcoming surgery. I have had you all in my prayers each day. The pictures and blog entries show you are surrounded by great family, friends and medical staff--that has to bring great comfort. Thinking of you all each day.

Nanna and Pappy love this wonderful baby Ella. And can't wait to hold her and are praying constantly for God's care and blessings.
Praise God from Whom ALL blessings flow! What a sweet gift to be able to hold your darling Ella every 3 hours!! It's unbelievable how such a seemingly simple thing can be so huge. We can't wait until she's well enough for us to hold her too! We'll be seeing you three soon :)

Dear Christy, Tyler and Baby Ella,
We are so pleased to hear Ella is doing so well. We are also very happy to hear that you can hold her. There is nothing so special as holding your own precious baby.
Sounds like Ella is a real fighter like her cousin Staci. Being a fighter will help carry her through the days to come.
There are a lot of churches in our area praying for you! We are keeping them posted. They send their Christian love and want you to know they are praying for you.

Michael was looking at her picture today with me and he wanted to "kiss baby," so he kissed the monitor. When I told him we are praying for her, he said "AMEN!"
